Cognizant Spacecraft Engineer(2019 - Present)
Northrop Grumman: Space Systems - HALO
A once in a lifetime opportunity where I get to contribute to the next manned moonshot mission! In this role I manage the requirements and design for the Structural Health Monitor. I conduct trades among alternative architectures
and negotiate requirements with various stakeholders, including the customer, program
management and the various subsystem teams. I have depth and advanced knowledge in mechanics and physics and want to learn more about controls, software and payload engineering subsystems.
Associate Systems Engineer(2018 - 2019)
Northrop Grumman
I developed skills such as high-level problem solving, big picture system design and learned practical MBSE skills to supplement my strong analysis skillset.
-
IBCS : On IBCS my focus is to identify modeling problems and their solutions to bring a design component up to date as well as to design new functionality for our customers, such as new predictive algorithms.
-
JOMIS : My focus was to engineer and generate the system level requirements for the program such that all the customer needs across the military medical care landscape were met.
-
Artificial Intelligence Engineer : I learned a lot about machine learning algorithms and AI development. I created a classifier algorithm and did advanced machine learning and data science.
-
Algorithm Development : I worked on new signal processing algorithms and more.

Surfaces and Geometric Theory
I work as a student researcher in Dr. Hanna's lab, helping him and other graduate students to understand material dynamics and the equilibria of flexible bodies in an effort to discover optimal strategies for design and the mechanics those structures produce. A direct application I am interested in is discovering ways to construct and fold parachutes to make them more viable at hypersonic speeds for spacecraft landings at >20 G's. I have learned 3D design functions (like scanning, meshing, printing and more) and the geometry of surfaces. I aim to learn more complex modeling software like OpenFOAM and algebraic geometry as a result of my time here.
Senior Design: NASA SLI (2018 - 2019)
NASA Student Launch Initiative
Throughout my senior year, I and 6 others will be designing a high-powered rocket that will launch ~5000 ft in the air to carry a drone apogee to autonomously deliver a navigational beacon to a nearby field. The rocket is a 1-stage rocketwith an innovative horizontal landing method and clever retention systems. The drone is packed full of features such as autonomous waypoint travel, camera/video feed transimission, self-stabilization, RC-access, and "load" deployment.
This project pits us against over 50 other colleges and our reports and designs rank above average with every submission; our latest CDR was in the top 10% of reports determined by NASA.

About
Resident Advisor (2016 - 2019)
Virginia Tech Housing and Residence Life
Hired as a freshman, I have been serving as an RA for 3 years. I plan hall events and manage a hall of 40-50 athletes.
- Learned how to adapt into a new role with short notice
- Conflict resolution and strong interpersonal skills with any type of individual (athletes, international students)
- Peer-peer leadership and community growth
- Professional presentation skills obtained; RAs present a biweekly report to their boss and a monthly educational campaign (civility, respect, personal growth) to their hall.
